His favorite hobby turned passion is tinkering and rebuilding antique pendulum clocks.

Steve Risotto
- Executive Director of the Halogenated Solvents Industry Alliance, a Washington, DC-based trade association composed of producers, importers, distributors, and users of chlorinated solvents. Steve coordinates HSIA’s regulatory, legislative, and stewardship activities, including the Alliance’s success in revising compliance deadlines under the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) final standard for methylene chloride.

Steve served on the editorial board of Precision Cleaning magazine between 1995 and 1998. He received a Stratospheric Ozone Protection award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for his work to assist companies in finding alternatives to 1,1,1-trichloroethane for solvent cleaning. Steve also received an award from EPA’s Design for Environment program for his work to promote pollution prevention in the drycleaning industry.

Steve has a B.S. in Biology from Cornell University and an M.S. in Marine Science from Louisiana State University. After graduating from LSU, he spent three years with the U.S. Department of Commerce and two years as a consultant to the Department of the Interior. He has been associated with HSIA since 1986.

He lives in Northern Virginia with his wife Jenifer and their son, Tony.

Don Dallons - Green Earth The new GreenEarth solution is good for you, our customers, because it is an excellent cleaner; it is odorless and leaves your clothes feeling and looking like new. It is good for the drycleaning industry because it is not toxic and can be handled easily and safely. It is good for all of us and our employees since it is affordable, can be used by large and small drycleaners, and provides a safe workplace. And "it is good for everybody" around the world since it is an environmentally friendly product and process!

Joe Bays - Pacific Equipment is a distributor for RYNEX dry-cleaning solvent in Washington, Oregon and northern Idaho.Pacific started up a new RYNEX dry-cleaning store on September 1, 2002. . Several local drycleaners attended a demonstration and appeared to be very impressed with the performance of RYNEX. Unlike competitive alternatives to Perc, RYNEX proved to be a powerful solvent with cleaning capabilities comparable to Perc, but without the addition of any chemical additives. The ability to clean without chemicals generates a significant cost savings and retains the properties that make RYNEX so desirable, i.e. Biodegradable, Non-toxic, Non-hazardous, Non-polluting.

Tom Tipps - Western Regional Manager BOWE Textile Cleaning USA - Solvents and the Equipment we use.

DEQ - Get the latest updates on the Oregon Dry Cleaners Program.
