Oregon Dry Cleaners Assoication
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, in Open Bible
Church in Portland for David Paul Johnson, who died Dec. 14 at age 67.
Mr. Johnson was born May 19, 1935, in Orland, Calif. He served in the Army
and moved in 1958 to Portland, where he owned Apparel Cleaners. In 1959, he
married Betty Tippie.
Most drycleaners will remember Mr. Johnson from his years at Northwest Solvents
and more recently as owner of Dave’s Iron Repair and his position as
cleaner/spotter at 45th Ave Cleaners in Portland.
Survivors include his wife; son, Ronald; daughters, Lorraine Hintz, Nadine
Rotter and Deborah Stai; sisters, Vivian Clifton, Dorothy Scott, Ruth Kvam,
Betty Enns and Naomi Johnson; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
